Violet things are mostly flowers and fruits, particularly berries that are close to black by virtue of being dark violet. Violet is a spectral color that results from short wavelengths of light. It is remarkably absent in nature and people therefore perceive it as odd and unusual. Historically, it was difficult to produce violet colors with dye as violet dyes such as indigo are easily washed out to become bluish. As such, there is not much traditional culture surrounding violet colors. The following are common violet things.Acai berries | Amethyst | Artichokes | Beets | Black currants | Blackberries | Blueberries | Bruises | Eggplant | Elderberries | Figs | Grapes | Lavender | Lepidolite | Lilac | Mangosteens | Morning glories | Mulberries | Orchids | Passion fruit | Plums | Purple cabbage | Purple potatoes | Purple sweet potatoes | Violets |
