130 Types of Dark Red

 , updated on
Dark red is an uncomfortable color associated with blood and intensive sunlight or fire. For this reason, it is often used as a warning such as chili peppers that use dark red to warn animals of its capsaicin content that the plant used as a defense mechanism before humans somehow decided capsaicin tastes good. As dark red becomes darker and approaches black it starts to feel mysterious and heavy. This is perhaps influenced by cultural associations such as vampires or the gothic subculture but also feels innate.
