Neutral Light Greens

Greens that are toned down by blending them with white, grey, brown or other neutral colors. These are commonly used for interior design and architecture where colorful greens tend to feel uncomfortable and harsh due to their association with the natural elements.

Natural Light Greens

Light greens based on natural vegetation and minerals. These feel authentic but can be less useful than the colors formulated for design such as the neutral colors above. Natural green colors can feel a little harsh or can carry unintended symbolism such as resembling a food.

Bright Light Greens

Bright greens that are also light tend to be shifted towards yellow but exceptions exist such as aquamarine that is shifted towards blue. These colors are uncomfortable, eye-catching and highly visible in a variety of conditions. As such, they have applications in areas such as safety, sports and advertising.

Pastel Greens

Pastels are a category of pencil that are mostly pure pigment. These appear super bright on black paper but quite washed-out on white paper. The colors named for pastels are always based on this washed-out look and are all faded and light.

Mint Greens

Green colors based on confectioneries made with the aromatic herbs known as mints such as peppermint and spearmint. These are usually a light green shifted towards blue.

Lime Greens

Colors based on various types of lime fruit and foods made with limes. These can have an ethereal glow that is typically very bright. The palette below are selected light green varieties.
